Today was supposed to
be the day I answered some of those questions I got tagged with, but
I've got a few bits and pieces that I wanted to pass on, so you'll
have to wait until next week to find out what my favourite colour is
:-)
Hands up if you're
doing the A -Z challenge? Now, keep your hand up if you haven't got
all your posts together yet. Well, if you need a hand with the letter
P on 17th April, Madeleine Maddocks of Scribble and Edit
is running the Plotting Blogfest. (It's open to pantsers too!). So
if you've got any tips or hints to share, and a post shaped hole on
that day, go here for details and sign up.
If your brain is
already overloaded trying to get those posts ready for next month, L.
Diane Wolfe from Spunk on a Stick is running the Sad Songs Blogfest on Friday 30th
March. We all have those songs that move us, or threaten to break our
heart. Here's where you can sign up to share them with everyone else!
Finally, Unicorn Bell
is running 'A Picture Paints 1000 Words'. Go here to sign up, and
between 26-28 March post a story of 1000 words or less inspired by
one of the ten pictures shown. There are prizes for this one, too!
One more thing before I
sneak off to bed with my dragon-tattooed girl, a blogging friend of
mine, Kayeleen Hamblin, from Kayeleen's Creation Corner announced
today that her husband Greg has left the writing closet and is joining us
all in the light. He has a brand new blog, so if you have a couple of
minutes, it would be great if you could drop by The Gregwriter and
say hello :-)
Lots of blogfests before the Challenge begins! I'm doing the sad songs one. Bet no one thinks my songs are sad though.
ReplyDeleteHaving listened to some of your recommendations, I'm probably not going to disagree with that assessment :-)
DeleteThanks for the shout out! I appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteWow! Lot's of busy bloggers. That was nice of you to mention the new blog. I'll have to go check it out.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sherry :-)
DeleteI'll stop by Greg's new blog and hit the Follow button. Anything to help a newbie in Blogdom. And I'll have to see what I have planned for P for the A to Z Challenge. Too tired from my blog tour now though to do anything but relax for a while.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, you could at least take the weekend off :-)
DeleteWow, tons of great blogfests coming up. Aprils is going to be a busy month.
ReplyDeleteAye. I think I'll spend May sleeping :-)
DeleteOhhh, cool new blogfests :) Thanks Emily.
ReplyDelete.......dhole
I always liked the name Emily ;-)
DeleteThanks for these links Sarah, but I think I'm too busy chasing up people for my A-Z posts to do any of them, lol!
ReplyDeleteDenise
No worries. I don't think I'll be entering, just spreading the love :-)
DeleteIt's nice to know what else is out there. I'd be busy with A to Z in April, but I might check out some of these links just to see what these other events are all about.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, it's nice to keep up with the news :-)
Delete...wow, busy slate. I'm interested in the Picture Paints 1000 Words, but not sure if that tedious calendar of mine will allow it ;)
ReplyDeleteEl
I hope you can squeeze it in, I love reading your stuff :-)
DeleteGreg is my new friend.
ReplyDeletePs... Sarah, *what* was(is?) the name of the comic who showed us his knickers every week... per the one blog hop pic up on top?
(Man, what a sentence :)
I know you know now, but I'll reply in public - Kenny Everett :-)
DeleteAlso, love the comment you left for Greg :-)
I love seeing all the blogfests! Don't forget that the A to Z blogging challenge is about to start on April 1st. It's quite the blogfest.
ReplyDeleteI used to participate in them all the time. Now I'm afraid I wouldn't do well in any of them because they require time!
The A to Z is the only one I didn't remember to publicise! Still, I guess the word is well and truly spread on that one :-)
DeleteThanks for the heads-up on everything that's happening! Popping off to follow Greg right now.
ReplyDeleteThanks for that Talli :-)
DeleteWhoa,
ReplyDeleteLOTS going on Sarah. I used to be so good at posting blogfests, etc. It's nice to see someone on top of these because they are so important to share with our blogger friends.
Yes, I am doing A-Z, and haven't written one yet. EEK! BUt I hope to try for the 1000 words blogfest. and the sad songs. Will I have the time? I hope so.
Off to follow Gregg now.
I hope you get a chance too. And don't worry, I don't even have a theme yet :-)
DeleteWow...so much going on. Thanks for the info
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome :-)
Deletewoweee!!! busy, busy, busy this blogland!
ReplyDeletei'm doing the sad songs one, are you?
I really wanted to, but it's next Friday and I have a Musical Impression celebrating a new release on that day. It would probably be filled with 80's stuff anyway!
DeleteThanks for sharing all of that, but I think I'm going to just focus on the A-Z Challenge - I've only got five written and I was hoping for more!
ReplyDeleteIf it makes you feel better, that's five more than me!
DeleteOh my... So many things going on... I wish I had the energy and the time to follow all these things. Sigh... I am doing an a-z challenge though.. Good luck with it all, Sarah!
ReplyDeleteOh no, I'm with you - just the A to Z. I'm only the messenger :-)
DeleteI don't know if I'd call it the writing closet... More like the writing wardrobe... or the writing chiffonier. Yeah, that seems classy, right?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the mention. I'll be sure to write good stuff to live up to the promotion!
Oh, that'sthe perfect tagline - 'Escaping the writing chiffonier'. It's one of those lines that people think should make sense :-)
DeleteI have yet to write a single post for A-Z. I think I shall have to spend the weekend getting some prepared so that I'm not overwhelmed.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to say I'll be doing likewise, but I know myself :-(
DeleteI may be nuts, but I'm going to play it by ear with A to Z. We'll be just starting our road trip, so I think things will come up on their own. I'll go visit the new guy!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting Greg. I reckon you'll get loads of inspiration on your trip :-)
DeleteI'm doing the A to Z challenge; I was thinking I had a good start with 4 or 5 posts written already. At least I have the topics chosen for the whole month! Yikes.
ReplyDeleteWell, you're definitely ahead of me :-)
DeleteOkay, wow, lots going on--thanks for the info!!
ReplyDeleteI'm a plotter with manuscripts, but I'm pantsing A-Z. I have nothing done in advance.
ReplyDeleteSee, that surprises me. I don't know why but I thought you've have all yours done by now. I'm feeling better :-)
DeleteI love that Kayeleen's husband is coming out of the closet with his writing! That's fabulous. I remember making that choice, too. It's a scary one.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the blogfest info!
Indeed! You're very welcome Amy.
DeleteI hope to join the A-Z challenge next year. I wanted to join this year, but we ended up moving (spent the last two months getting everything out of our house) and downsizing and now are living with the Early American Cardboard look. Now that I'm babysitting Mr. Short Naps full time, I'm too tired to unpack anything when I get home, so this moving business is way more challenging than the A-Z challenge. If I can participate next year, I'll smile and be thankful that the chaos of moving is long past! Thanks for letting us know about the blogfest and 1,000 words contest. Best of luck to The Gregwriter! I'll head on over and say hello!
ReplyDeleteYou have so much on your plate right now, I'm impressed you're still standing! Sitting this one out sounds like a good idea :-)
DeleteI hadn't heard of the Sad Songs Blogfest. Thanks for the heads-up!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. Are you going to enter?
DeleteThanks for sharing these, Sarah!
ReplyDeleteTo date, I've written a few A-Z posts... and there's ONLY 8 days left... YIKES! Better get moving...
I'm particularly interested in the Sad Songs Blogfest... I know lots of melancholy tunes that resonate... really touch that spot... wonder if I'll manage to squeeze it in? *sighs*
So many blogfests - so little time...
That's the one that I liked the sound of - I've got a ton of 'em. Sadly it clashes with something else :-(
DeletePeople are doing a lot of things in the blogosphere! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the news.
Aren't they? It's like they're squeezing it all in before April :-)
DeleteSo many awesome things happening.... thanks for sharing.. now I have some new places to check out:)
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. Have fun :-)
DeleteSarah - Thank you so much for filling us in on these doings. Goodness knows where you find the time to keep track of all of this, but I'm glad you do!
ReplyDeleteIt's easy. I procrastinate in other areas :-)
DeleteYep. I signed up for A-Z. Am hopeful that I will be able to do at least half the letters this time.
ReplyDeleteThose other blogfests sound fun too.
Best of luck with it Liz :-)
DeleteSo I did that A-Z fest last year and was an utter failure at it. I made it through R. *shakes head* I won't even try this year. I am not sure I have 26 things to say all year, let alone in a month:)
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
18 out of 26 is not failure woman! At least this year you can watch the insanity and cheer us all on :-)
DeleteLove the button for the plot blogfest! And a big welcome to Greg!
ReplyDeleteIt's a real blast from the past :-)
DeleteWow! So many fun things happening! And I've never attempted the A-Z challenge. My brain can't handle it. LOL
ReplyDeleteWell, if mine ends up exploding, you know why ;-)
DeleteI am doing the A to Z Blogfest. I'm up to S with my pre-scheduled posts, so I'm doing pretty well.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many things happening! Thanks for the heads up.
Now that's what I call organised :-)
DeleteI'm definitely doing A to Z. I had a ball doing it last year. I've already scheduled a couple of posts.
ReplyDeleteI really should make a start myself :-)
DeleteI'm doing A-Z and am not feeling confident about it. Oh well...I'll try anything once.
ReplyDeleteI like the Picture paints a 1000 words blogfest. Sounds interesting!
Well, I for one will be by to visit you :-)
DeleteI've got A-E written, and I have a draft post where I'm pinning up all my topics as I think of them. These other fests look great, but I really think I'm going to lie low til April so I can get prepared. Going to say hello to Greg, though, I know it's hard getting started.
ReplyDeleteAnd to answer Mark's question... that would be Kenny Everett. :)
Thanks for saying hi to Greg. You're right, it's tough at the start! You're better organised than I am :-)
Delete... AKA Cupid Stunt :-)
I'm not doing the challenge :( maybe next year but I just couldn't make it happen this time.
ReplyDeleteI am, however, looking forward to reading everyone's posts. They were so much fun last time around.
I think you might have the smart idea :-)
DeleteAaaaaah! Too much other stuff to do before the A to Z Challenge starts!
ReplyDeleteWell, if you will publish books and win video competitions ... :-)
DeleteBless you Sarah for giving my blogfest a shout out. I think i might have a go at one of those others you've mentioned too. Let me know how much you enjoyed Dragon Tattoo? Is it scarey?
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome.
DeleteI enjoyed it a lot more than I expected to, although it definitely needed another edit. (Too much description of computers and food!). It wasn't scary, although there were a couple of unpleasant scenes. One in particular was very nasty but I do think it was necessary. I've just started the next one.
There's so much going on. It's fun though. I love bloggyland.
ReplyDeleteMe too, the most fun you can have whilst staying legal ;-)
DeleteLove that last picture :-)
ReplyDelete(and no I am not doing the A-Z thingy)
I'd definitely like to live there :-)
DeleteI just took a look at your blog, now I'm hungry :-)
I just wrote my T post. I'm almost there!
ReplyDeleteI'm really impressed by organised people. So April should be smooth sailing for you :-)
