Things other people are doing

Today was supposed to be the day I answered some of those questions I got tagged with, but I've got a few bits and pieces that I wanted to pass on, so you'll have to wait until next week to find out what my favourite colour is :-)

Hands up if you're doing the A -Z challenge? Now, keep your hand up if you haven't got all your posts together yet. Well, if you need a hand with the letter P on 17th April, Madeleine Maddocks of Scribble and Edit is running the Plotting Blogfest. (It's open to pantsers too!). So if you've got any tips or hints to share, and a post shaped hole on that day, go here for details and sign up.

If your brain is already overloaded trying to get those posts ready for next month, L. Diane Wolfe from Spunk on a Stick is running the Sad Songs Blogfest on Friday 30th March. We all have those songs that move us, or threaten to break our heart. Here's where you can sign up to share them with everyone else!

Finally, Unicorn Bell is running 'A Picture Paints 1000 Words'. Go here to sign up, and between 26-28 March post a story of 1000 words or less inspired by one of the ten pictures shown. There are prizes for this one, too!

One more thing before I sneak off to bed with my dragon-tattooed girl, a blogging friend of mine, Kayeleen Hamblin, from Kayeleen's Creation Corner announced today that her husband Greg has left the writing closet and is joining us all in the light. He has a brand new blog, so if you have a couple of minutes, it would be great if you could drop by The Gregwriter and say hello :-)

  1. Lots of blogfests before the Challenge begins! I'm doing the sad songs one. Bet no one thinks my songs are sad though.

  3. Wow! Lot's of busy bloggers. That was nice of you to mention the new blog. I'll have to go check it out.

  4. I'll stop by Greg's new blog and hit the Follow button. Anything to help a newbie in Blogdom. And I'll have to see what I have planned for P for the A to Z Challenge. Too tired from my blog tour now though to do anything but relax for a while.

  8. It's nice to know what else is out there. I'd be busy with A to Z in April, but I might check out some of these links just to see what these other events are all about.

  9. ...wow, busy slate. I'm interested in the Picture Paints 1000 Words, but not sure if that tedious calendar of mine will allow it ;)

  11. I love seeing all the blogfests! Don't forget that the A to Z blogging challenge is about to start on April 1st. It's quite the blogfest.

I used to participate in them all the time. Now I'm afraid I wouldn't do well in any of them because they require time!

  13. Whoa,

LOTS going on Sarah. I used to be so good at posting blogfests, etc. It's nice to see someone on top of these because they are so important to share with our blogger friends.

Yes, I am doing A-Z, and haven't written one yet. EEK! BUt I hope to try for the 1000 words blogfest. and the sad songs. Will I have the time? I hope so.

    Off to follow Gregg now.

  18. I don't know if I'd call it the writing closet... More like the writing wardrobe... or the writing chiffonier. Yeah, that seems classy, right?

Thanks for the mention. I'll be sure to write good stuff to live up to the promotion!

    1. Oh, that'sthe perfect tagline - 'Escaping the writing chiffonier'. It's one of those lines that people think should make sense :-)

  20. I may be nuts, but I'm going to play it by ear with A to Z. We'll be just starting our road trip, so I think things will come up on their own. I'll go visit the new guy!!

  21. I'm doing the A to Z challenge; I was thinking I had a good start with 4 or 5 posts written already. At least I have the topics chosen for the whole month! Yikes.

  24. I love that Kayeleen's husband is coming out of the closet with his writing! That's fabulous. I remember making that choice, too. It's a scary one.

Thanks for all the blogfest info!

  25. I hope to join the A-Z challenge next year. I wanted to join this year, but we ended up moving (spent the last two months getting everything out of our house) and downsizing and now are living with the Early American Cardboard look. Now that I'm babysitting Mr. Short Naps full time, I'm too tired to unpack anything when I get home, so this moving business is way more challenging than the A-Z challenge. If I can participate next year, I'll smile and be thankful that the chaos of moving is long past! Thanks for letting us know about the blogfest and 1,000 words contest. Best of luck to The Gregwriter! I'll head on over and say hello!

  27. Thanks for sharing these, Sarah!
To date, I've written a few A-Z posts... and there's ONLY 8 days left... YIKES! Better get moving...

I'm particularly interested in the Sad Songs Blogfest... I know lots of melancholy tunes that resonate... really touch that spot... wonder if I'll manage to squeeze it in? *sighs*
So many blogfests - so little time...

  30. Sarah - Thank you so much for filling us in on these doings. Goodness knows where you find the time to keep track of all of this, but I'm glad you do!

  31. Yep. I signed up for A-Z. Am hopeful that I will be able to do at least half the letters this time.

Those other blogfests sound fun too.

  32. So I did that A-Z fest last year and was an utter failure at it. I made it through R. *shakes head* I won't even try this year. I am not sure I have 26 things to say all year, let alone in a month:)
    Good luck!

There are so many things happening! Thanks for the heads up.

  36. I'm definitely doing A to Z. I had a ball doing it last year. I've already scheduled a couple of posts.

  37. I'm doing A-Z and am not feeling confident about it. Oh well...I'll try anything once.

I like the Picture paints a 1000 words blogfest. Sounds interesting!

  38. I've got A-E written, and I have a draft post where I'm pinning up all my topics as I think of them. These other fests look great, but I really think I'm going to lie low til April so I can get prepared. Going to say hello to Greg, though, I know it's hard getting started.

And to answer Mark's question... that would be Kenny Everett. :)

    1. You're very welcome.

I enjoyed it a lot more than I expected to, although it definitely needed another edit. (Too much description of computers and food!). It wasn't scary, although there were a couple of unpleasant scenes. One in particular was very nasty but I do think it was necessary. I've just started the next one.
